SURF Students Make the News!
Two SURF students from last summer, Juliette Becker (Caltech '14) and Andrew Vanderburg (Berkeley), who were co-advised by Dr. John Johnson, Assistant Professor of Planetary Astronomy and his postdoc Dr. Phil Muirhead, made the news when they found evidence using the Kepler Telescope data that light can be bent by gravity, an element of the theory of general relativity.
