Doris S. Perpall Speaking Competition
Congratulations to all who participated in the final round
of the Perpall Competition! This years top three speakers were:
1st Prize - Evan Gawlik
2nd Prize - Kate Craig
3rd Prize - Andrew Freddo
Doris S. Perpall Speaking Competition - Final Round
On SURF Seminar Day over 240 undergraduates presented their
summer research projects in parallel sessions. The session chairs and judges
identified the best speaker in each session, and these students advanced
to the semifinal round. The eight students presenting on January 10 were
selected from the semifinals, thus bringing us to the final round.
Each student
will have a total presentation time of 18 minutes, including three minutes for questions and discussion. The prizes are awarded for presentation
skill. The first place winner will receive $1000; second, $600; and third,
$400.
The final
round of the Perpall Competition will take place on January 10 between 2:00 – 5:00pm
in Beckman Institute Auditorium.
